Score of the day!!!
Today after a quick glance at craigslist.com and freecycle.org I was able to score some free items. 2 pairs of shoes for my stepdaughter and a baby swing for my new baby and also a diaper pail. If you have the time in your hands it doesnt hurt to check it out these websites there is always someone out there getting rid off something that might be a treasure to you. I always have my eyes open for what is a treasure to me. You might find some for you.

I've been absent
Wow its been a while since I last stopped by. Lots of good and bad things happened since then. First I found out that I was expecting which was great news since me and my husband were trying for a while second I got layed off which sucked. But now I have the time to spend with my family and dedicate myself to my project that I wasnt really following it.
Many of you would be pulling your hair out in worry and stress. What to do when you have a baby on the way and one less source of income? I am not worried or stressed. I think this is a great opportunity for me to dedicate myself to my project of 1 freebie a day and also start another one. Fast spending money. Sounds crazy but it can be done. I read in many articles of people that actually did it. I will only spend on the essentials such as groceries, bills and gas for the car. Everything else that is considered luxury will b cut off. I will keep you posted of my progress.

A lil about myself.
I decided to share here a little bit about myself and how I got into this crazy world of finance.
I was born and raised in a third world country and always been careful about money. Coming to this country I realized that everything was material and people bought more than they needed and could afford. I made many personal and financial mistakes since I left my parents house. I got my first car at the age of 18 and it cost me $300 bucks that car lasted me almost 2 years. I wish I knew more about cars then so I could have taken better care of it and I would still have it. I live in a modest rented apartment with my husband and my son and we plan to save enough to buy a house of our own. Right now we are both working on getting rid of our debts so we can achieve our main goal. We plan well through out the year so we can vacations and enjoy life. I am the responsible adult in the relationship therefore I am the one always reminding about our financial situation and goals. Living in a poor country taught me to be a better person, to find other means to entertain myself instead of depending on money. We walk, visit parks, beaches and everything that is free or low cost. I dont need fancy bags or brand names. I am happy with hands me down and giving back to society what no longer interest me or my family. I hope that with this blog others see what I see. We can all live with less and be happy about it.

365 days of free stuff!!!
Yes my fellow followers... you read it right. I took upon myself a challenge. For the next 365 days. Aug 2010-Aug 2011. I wont be doing any shopping. May sound crazy but it can be done and I intend to prove it. People throw away and give away stuff everyday. I guess this idea was inspired by sibling rivalry. My sister is the Queen of coupon but she is always buying stuff which makes me wonder if she actually save up when she buys so much. Yesterday I was looking online for a cheap bookcase and I came across someone that was giving away a bunch of drapes. Good drapes!!! Drapes that I would spend a good amount of money myself. So I went for it. My only expense was that I had to go pick it up but I can do so much with all those drapes. Its a lot fabrics. I will start this experiment and keep you updated. I am still looking for a FREE bookcase. If anybody knows of someone getting rid of one please let me know. Thanks.
P.S. I want to make clear that even though I wont be doing any "shopping", I will still spend on necessities such as groceries and utilities but always willing to pay less for it....

i got so much to share.....
I been really busy lately, sorry folks but i got lots of beans to spill so I am just got dump them here. I finally reached my safety net goal.... Yay!!!! I am soooo proud of myself. I set small goals to reach on and strive for them. My safety net goal was for $1000. Now I am setting myself another goal to reach $1500 and so on. Most finance advisor tell you to put away what it would take you to survive for 6-12 months without declaring bankrupcy. I am going for that and I am almost sure that by the end of the year Ill be able to achieve my 6 months.... Only if I could be this persistent when it comes to paying my credit card. But then again little by little I will achieve all of my goals.......

late movies night and a book????
Well last night after an agonizing day at work I decided to make my way to the nearest Blockbuster and have a movie night in with my beloved husband. Totally out of impulse I grabbed a book instead I mean What the hell is this a movie rental store or a book store???? Anyway who am I fooling??? When am I ever gonna find time to read this??? Between answering phones typing blogs changing diapers and fixing dinner??? I am looking at it right now trying to figure this tough question out. Why do I have to try so hard to fit in with the real world out there?? Is this what I am trying to do? My life itself is a book who knows maybe I will start to work on it. Hold it let me put this down on my to do list. I'll take a look at it after I am done with groceries.
So right after another horrifying day at the supermarket I still had the challenge to fix dinner. Defrost the chicken that I took out from the freezer the day before and it was still hard as a rock but my next challenge would be to cook it or even better bake it but to my own surprise it came out delicious and even the big man that carries the wallet was agreeing licking his fingers. What a pleasant sight.....

Welcome to my blog.
Hello I just want to welcome everyone to my blog. I want to express a lil about myself. I am a mother and wife a sister and daughter. I love my family the most and I am here to describe my day-to-day with the people that I love and share some of my tips on family, friends and my relationship with them. I have a wonderful child that I just adore and I dont think that my love for him can grown any bigger. I am happily married to the most adorable and annoying man in the world. He is my best friend and I like to think that we complete each other.
I am a female to the fullest and I can do pretty dumb stuff myself. I cant cook even though I like to believe that I do and my poor husband will try everything that I just "learned" to cook with a smile in his face. Speaking of it I wonder what is for dinner.....
